What are some of the hidden costs of war? After its war of independence, Timor-Leste's economic infrastructure was left in tatters rendering it one of the poorest economies in the world.

Many people must scrape to make a living just to ensure their family's survival. Farmers in rural areas have been particularly affected.

Lent Event participants are helping to improve the situation for rural communities by supporting UnitingWorld's Agricultural Project, providing seeds, fertilizer, tractor hire and other tools to farmers.
